The plan outlines the administration's efforts in stockpile stewardship, nuclear non-proliferation, counterterrorism and emergency response goals, an NNSA release said.

The plan lays out agency's planning, programming and budgeting processes for the next decade, the release said.

The administration, established by Congress in 2000, is a semi-autonomous agency within the U.S. Department of Energy responsible for enhancing national security through the military application of nuclear science in the nation's national security enterprise.

"We are building on the nation's renewed commitment to nuclear security," NNSA Administrator Thomas D'Agostino said.

"To enhance global and national security, the NNSA is strengthening its ability to ensure that we have the people, tools, and information required to address the broader set of national security needs."
