Peruvian Defense Minister Pedro Cateriano and French Deputy Defense Minister Kader Arif have signed two bilateral agreements for cooperation in defense and in the field of military heritage and traditions.
The documents, signed at the Peruvian Army's headquarters in Lima, shows the high level of relations between Peru and France and enhances mutual understanding in defense matters.
The meeting between Cateriano and Arif followed an invitation made by the Peruvian defense minister during his trip to France last year.
The signing ceremony was also attended by the deputy ministers of Resources for Defense, Jakke Valakivi; of Policy for Defense, Mario Sanchez Debernardi, and senior officials representing the Peruvian Ministry of Defense.
Also present were French Ambassador to Peru, Jean Jacques Beaussou, and members of the French delegation that had arrived in the country on an official visit.
During his stay in Lima, Minister Kader Arif visited the Chorrillos Military School, Las Palmas Air Force Base and the Shipyard Marine Industrial Services (SIMA).
He was also received in audience by Peruvian President Ollanta Humala at the Government Palace.
