19/05/2012 | A Global ''No'' To a Nuclear-Armed Iran
Pew Research Center Staff
Broad majorities in the U.S., Europe and many countries in the Middle East and Asia are opposed to Iran obtaining nuclear weapons, according to a new survey of 21 nations. Among opponents, there is also majority support in most countries for international economic sanctions to try to stop Tehran's weapons program. However, support for using military force if necessary is more mixed. Divisions over economic sanctions and military intervention are especially pronounced among the E3+3 negotiating partners, with the Chinese and the Russians as notable dissenters.
