National District prosecutor Alejandro Moscoso revealed Monday that the French citizen Thierry André Eugene Barde, who gunned down a fugitive Marcos Antonio Gutiérrez in the Piantini sector Thursday, was wanted by INTERPOL, to face drug trafficking charges in his country.
The official said Barde is being held in the jail of the courthouse at Ciudad Nueva, and will be deported to France in the next few hours.
The foreigner, who used a revolver to kill the alleged assailant, told reporters that he owned a hotel in the Colonial Zone, and also has unspecified properties in northeastern Samana province.
Barde’s attorney Moises Almonte told news source elcaribe.com.do that his client was in the business of importing off-road 4-wheels.
