España -Argentina - Funds allegedly diverted to Argentina
The corruption scandal currently hitting Spain’s Popular Party (PP) was reported in local media yesterday to contain a “South American connection” in Argentina, as its former party treasurer, Luis Bárcenas, who was discovered to hold a Swiss bank account with a balance of 22.4 million euros, was alleged to have diverted “a large part” of the sum to investments in La Moraleja, a lemon-growing farm in the province of Salta.

Argentina - CFK: 'Our agricultural plan is key to Argentina's development'
Speaking from the Tecnópolis science and technology theme park, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced the Strategic Agrifood and Agrindustrial Plan (PEA) and assured that the country will produce “over 160 million tons” of grains as she presented the goals of the farming programme for 2020. “This plan is the key for Argentina’s development,” she said, although she warned that even though the goals set are “good” in the long run they need to be expanded.
